Privacy Policy
Tally Darts is a darts cricket scoreboard. It exists to count marks, not to collect people. There are no ads, no advertising identifiers, no third-party analytics and no tracking scripts, and nothing about you is ever sold or shared for marketing.
What gets stored
You can open the app and play straight away. An anonymous account is created so your games have somewhere to live — no name, no email, just a random ID.
- Your games. Score, marks, rounds, which numbers closed, the opponent settings you chose, and when you played. This is what the history screen, career MPR and the recap are built from.
- Your username, if you claim one. Public by design: it is the name other players see.
- Your leaderboard entry, if you opt in. Other players see your username, your MPR, your games played and your wins. No individual game of yours is ever visible to anyone.
- Your country, if you choose to set one. It is shown beside your name on the leaderboard. The app suggests a country from your device's time zone setting, but nothing is saved or shown until you pick one yourself, and you can clear it at any time. Your actual location is never requested or looked up: no GPS, and no IP address geolocation.
- Basic diagnostic information about the app and the device it is running on, so problems can be found and fixed. Today that means the app version, the type of device, whether the app is installed or running in a browser, your time zone, and when you last opened it. This is how a bad build gets caught.
- An abuse check. Before the app is allowed to read or write anything, Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise and Firebase App Check confirm the request came from the real app rather than a script. To do that, Google receives device and browser signals along with an app identifier. This runs on every visit, it is not tied to your name or your games, and it is what keeps someone from filling the leaderboard with fake entries.
- Your Google email and name, only if you choose to sign in. Signing in is optional and exists so your games follow you to a new phone instead of disappearing. Your email is never displayed to other players and never added to a mailing list. It is used to reply to you only if you send feedback and ask for a reply — see the next point.
- Feedback you send, if you choose to send any. The app has a button for reporting a problem or sending a note to the developer. What gets sent is whatever you type, and — when you report from a specific match — the stored record of that match, so the behaviour you are describing can actually be looked at. Nothing is sent without you pressing the button. You can also tick a box to attach your email address so you can be replied to; leave it unticked and the report arrives with no way to contact you.
A copy also sits in your browser's local storage, so the app works at the board with no signal.
Who else can see it
Google Firebase stores the data and handles sign-in, and Cloudflare hosts the site. They act only as processors, handling data on the app's behalf rather than for their own purposes. That is the current list, and if a service is ever added to it this page changes first.
The Android app on Google Play is the same website in a native wrapper, so everything above applies to it unchanged. Google Play handles its own distribution and crash reporting under Google's policies, separately from this one.
How it is protected
Everything travels over an encrypted connection, and there is no point where your data moves in the clear. Access is enforced on Google's servers, not just in the app: your games and profile can only be read by you, and the leaderboard only ever exposes the handful of fields listed above. Sign-in is handled by Google, so no password of yours is ever created, seen or stored here.
How long it is kept
Games and profile data stay until you delete them. A claimed username returns to the pool after 90 days without a game, so names are not held forever by accounts nobody uses. Your games and stats are unaffected when that happens.
Feedback is kept only as long as it is useful — at most 12 months, and deleted sooner once whatever it reported has been dealt with. If you deleted your account in the meantime, any feedback still held goes with it.
Deleting your data
Delete everything yourself, at any time: Profile → Delete account in the app, or tallydarts.com/delete-account.html on the web. That removes your games, your profile, your username, your leaderboard entry, any feedback you sent, and the account itself. It is immediate and permanent.
Prefer a human? Email privacy@tallydarts.com and it will be done within 30 days, usually much sooner.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see what is stored about you, correct it, delete it, or get a copy. Email privacy@tallydarts.com — no hoops beyond confirming you control the address.
Children
Tally Darts is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email the address above and it will be removed.
Changes
If this changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything that meaningfully affects what is collected will also appear in the app's release notes rather than being quietly swapped in.
